Alas, tonight’s My Autumn Almanac, which was to feature The Trimdon Grange Explosion and The
Garden City Project has been cancelled as The Apple Tree has had to close down. This is a double shame
as the Apple Tree was a mighty fine venue, it played host to my book launch just three weeks ago.
Further to yesterday’s post, where I drew your attention to My Autumn Almanac, there is always the Dirty
Water on a Friday night, at least for the time being. Tonight’s show is a bit of a Hammond feast with Fay
Hallam’s Trinity (late of 80s Wolverhampton mod-popsters Makin’ Time), Sweden’s The Moving Sounds
and Medway’s Bresslaws.
On the plus side, with fingers crossed, there is no word as we go to press (11am) on tonight’s Morrissey
gig. My friend Rachel landed in England yesterday from Seattle and has arranged her trip to coincide with
the tour, having bought a ticket for the Manchester date on May 23rd. Get well soon Moz, for Rachel’s
sake!
