We went, we saw, she conquered. Danielle DiFerdinand, the 22-year-old entrepreneur of Danielle Nicole Handbags makes some of the best handbags in the biz; no kidding. There is simply no comparison between seeing her utterly soft and totally cool handbags in person versus seeing them on a computer screen. So what makes these bags so darn good?

First and foremost it's the leather. We had to see it for ourselves. So we went to our local Neiman and scooped one of Danielle's incredible bags into our arms and immediately embraced the bag as though we were getting a warm hug from a long lost pal (yes, we really are that big a bag-hag). Then we compared, we contrasted. The buttery leather on that Danielle Nicole bag was some the softest we felt that day, all day. 

But there's more. The way Danielle tools the bags is also beyond compare. The details are subtle but bohemian in style – a little rouching here, some fringe there. These minimal but strong details are what keep the bags sophisticated but also what gives them their one-two punch. 

Our personal faves? That's easy – the mustard yellow Kristi Mini for day and the Sarah clutch for night in black or bronze; just take your pick.

THE SCOOP: Kentucky boys David Neville and Marcus Wainwright have forced themselves into the open range of American fashion with their utilitarian aesthetic. And for Rag & Bone’s Spring 2010 show, hairstylist Teddy Charles crafted a textured look to round out the classic, tailored designs. Charles invoked Jodie Foster in “Nell” with a rough yet simple style. He left messy tendrils for an undone feel, finishing with a wave spray which was lightly misted onto twisted strands to add volume.

Are You Gruff Enough to Rock the Boilersuit - Yea or Nay?

Recasting industrial designs to make trendy street wear is a time-honored tradition, but there's a fine line. With clothes like carpenter jeans, cargo pockets, and Carhartt work wear, it's hard to strike the balance between hipster, trying too hard and being mistaken for an actual professional craftsman on their lunch break. Could you imagine a friend going out in a pair of coveralls and actually pulling it off?

Perhaps the best way to make it look fashionable is to pay £420 ($607) for the Boilersuit, by Adam Kimmel. Specially designed to flatter any physique with its luxurious denim (is luxury denim an oxymoron?), this "boilersuit," as they are called in the UK, is certainly an expensive gamble.

We might recommend taking a look at your work clothes store and seeing how you look in a pair of Dickies coveralls -- it's a much smaller risk. Then, of course, you have to ask the question: do I or don't I customize my "boilersuit" with oil stains?

What do you think? Are coveralls a plausible fashion phenomenon, or just too awkward? Are they more or less awkward than mantyhose?

Gute Nachricht für alle Mieter: ?ndert sich der Eigentümer des Mietobjekts, so darf dieser nicht sofort die Miete erh?hen. Dies ist laut Deutschem Mieterbund in Berlin erst erlaubt, wenn die Miete ein komplettes Jahr konstant bleibt. Desweiteren ist die Mieterh?hung nur bis zur ortsüblichen Vergleichsmiete erlaubt, so der DMB. Darüber hinaus muss der Vermieter dem Mieter eine Erh?hung schriftlich begründen, dieser hat danach zwei Monate Zeit, die neue Miete mit der ortsüblichen Vergleichsmiete abzugleichen und zu überprüfen.

Erst ab dem dritten Monat nach Bekanntgabe ist die erste Rate der erh?hten Miete f?llig – soweit der Mieter dieser zugestimmt hat. Grunds?tzlich gilt für Mieter folgendes: die Miete darf innerhalb von drei Jahren um maximal 20 Prozent erh?ht werden – alles andere ist unrechtm??ig.

Eine Ausnahme davon stellt die Mieterh?hung im Falle von gestiegenen Betriebskosten oder Modernisierungsma?nahmen dar. Laut DMB ist die genannte Obergrenze jedoch in jedem Fall zu beachten – auch wenn die Miete nach Erh?hung noch nicht an das Level der Vergleichsmiete reicht.

Um dem kreativen, brodelnden und szenetypischen Charakter St.Paulis gerecht zu werden, soll die Halle keine reine Abspiellocation werden, die alle paar Tage für ein Konzert ?ffnet und nach der Veranstaltung die Pforten bis zum n?chsten Event schlie?t. Die Ideen für den Tagesbetrieb der ?St.Pauli Music Hall“ reichen von einem Restaurant über ein Café bis hin zu einem Musikinstrumente-Shop. Auch eine Probebühne für vorbereitungswillige Musiker ist angedacht.

Ein Problem gibt es dennoch: Teile der Hallenfassade sind denkmalgeschützt und ein Abriss st??t beim Leiter des Denkmalschutzamtes nicht gerade auf Begeisterung. Auch werden für die Music-Hall lediglich 4.000 m2 des Gel?ndes ben?tigt, für die Nutzung des restlichen Areals gibt es derzeit noch keine Pl?ne. St.Paulis neues Highlight ist also noch nicht in trockenen Tüchern.

Ein potentieller Standort für den neuen Musiktempel ist auch schon gefunden. Das Gel?nde der ehemaligen Rindermarkthalle bietet optimale Bedingungen auf über 31.000 m2, auch der derzeitige Nutzer, ein Lebensmittelmarkt, will demn?chst ausziehen.

Am Willen soll es jedenfalls nicht scheitern. Eine ganze Gruppe von namhaften Initiatoren aus der Hamburger Musikwirtschaftsszene hat sich gefunden, um das Projekt einer knapp 4.000 Zuschauer fassenden Halle zu forcieren, darunter Konzertveranstalter Jahnke, Christian Gerlach vom in Hamburg ans?ssigen Label Warner-Music; sogar Vertreter anderer Hamburger Veranstaltungsorte wie die Color-Line-Arena, der Mojo-Club sowie der Stage-Club sitzen mit im Boot. Der Tenor ist einhellig: Die Stadt braucht einen mittelgro?en Veranstaltungsort, um mit St?dten wie K?ln (E-Werk, Palladium) und Berlin (Columbiahalle) mithalten zu k?nnen.

Neues Vergnügungszentrum für St.Pauli?

Hamburgs buntester Stadtteil soll ein neues kulturelles Highlight erhalten. Mit der neuen ?Music Hall“ soll das Vakuum zwischen der gro?en Color Line Arena (11.000 Pl?tze), der altehrwührdigen Alsterdorfer Sporthalle (7.000 Pl?tze) und den kleinen Clubs mit 1.500 Pl?tzen geschlossen werden. Doch bevor die Tr?ume vom neuen Szenetempel Realit?t werden, gilt es noch einige Klippen zu umschiffen.

The Journal quotes Cisco CTO Padmasree Warrior saying:

The wraps are off the worst-kept secret in the tech industry: Cisco Systems’ move into blade servers. But what’s interesting is that Cisco isn’t being shy about how it wants to compete with Hewlett-Packard.

We’re going to compete with HP. I don’t want to sugarcoat that. There is bound to be change in the landscape of who you compete with and who you partner with.

HP also has its own networking gear that could ultimately threaten Cisco.

That’s why Cisco’s Monday launch will be notable because of its partners as well as the product details. IBM is teamed with Juniper. Brocade bought Foundry Networks. And Cisco’s blade launch will include partners such as BMC, EMC, VMware, and Microsoft.

From here out you can view the tech industry in terms of tectonic plates shifting without any lubrication. You’ll have a handful of cash rich giants vying for market share and new growth markets.

The good news is that this big scrum is likely to mean better pricing for customers.

As expected, Cisco will launch its foray into blade servers, but The Wall Street Journal has an interesting take. The paper notes how former partners are now trying to nail each other as the tech industry matures.
