ehiz Choc! Horror! Bizarre Designs at Salon du Cho

We love chocolate. And you know we love fashion.

But chocolate and fashion? Ehhhh…not so much.

Still, we’ll give the fine folks at Salon du Chocolat points for creativity, as demonstrated by the, um, unusual (cough, fugly) chocolate-embellished outfits seen on the runway at last night’s “Chocolate Trends Fashion Show” in celebration of the international chocolate exhibition’s 15th anniversary.

(Side note: Is this why French women don’t get fat? By wearing, not eating, the chocolate? Le screw that!)

From a red Spanish flamenco frock boasting chocolate panels to a heart-shaped frock to a bizarre Hiawatha-meets-Hershey’s choc-studded headdress, the designs were as eyebrow-raising as they were edible.
According to the Salon du Chocolat website, the fashion show — now in its 11th year as part of the yummy festivities — was inspired by a “fairytale opera” featuring French celebrities donning creations made by avant-garde designers collaborating with chocolate makers such as Nestle and Michel Cluizel. Participating designers included Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Jean Doucet, and Virginie Stucki.

Funds from the show benefit children’s charities, according to Salon du Chocolat, which says, “the aim is to amass several tons of chocolate for sick and underprivileged children.”

Um…okay. Guess couture gowns studded with vital medicine bottles didn’t have the same glamour quotient.

Either way, we don’t think we’ll be wearing these wacky frocks. Eating them, however, is another matter.

Love chocolate? Check out Godiva and Laura Slatkin’s coco-licious candles.

wzty Chloe Sevigny in Balenciaga – I want that!_32

Chloe Sevigny in Balenciaga - I want that!
We like when Chloe Sevigny brings it down a notch. Her outfit appears simple at first but it's all in the details (see her sandals, choker and bag, all Balenciaga too). The pop of pastel is unexpected, especially for fall but worked nonetheless. We also really loved the closeup shots where you can see her nearly naked skin and spidery, Twiggy-esque lashes.

Chloe Sevigny in Marios Schwab - I Want That!
Alright, we admit – Chloe Sevigny's style used to freak us out. She was too risky for our faint heart and sometimes we couldn't tell whether she was the hot one on Big Love or the fugly one. Well, news flash – she is the hot one and lately, her style couldn't be any better! Plus she's got legs and she knows how to use 'em. (PS - ZZ Top rules.)

This is absolutely the best little white dress we've seen to date this season. Love the off the shoulder look. Love the slit. Love the bold orange lip. And love the bohemian bag.

9dht Bowties Have Celebrity Women All Tied Up – Kn

We thought marrying Tom Green was questionable, but the striped bow tie Drew Barrymore wore last month brings lapses in judgment to a whole 'nother level. And can we talk about that old man pajama top?

Part Marlene Dietrich, part Chippendale's dancer, Diane Kruger's sleeveless penguin suit for the Melbourne premiere of "Inglourious Basterds" last month boasted a studded black bowtie and suspenders.

Michelle Obama isn't the only First Lady with a knot-ty side. At the NATO Summit in April, French First Lady Carla Bruni opted for a gray coat with a chunky tie detail.

We know a socialite like "The City" star Olivia Palermo, shown here at a Diesel party in August, has got to have money ... so why is she dressing like Raggedy Andy? We can only imagine the eye-bulging, jaw-dropping faces co-star Whitney Port made when she saw this get-up.

You dropped the Bond on me, buh-baby. While everyone else swanned around in ballgowns, envelope-pusher Rihanna went the 007 route in a tux for May's "The Model as Muse" Costume Institute Gala at the Met. Dare we say we have a girl crush?

Seeing Kirsten Dunst at the Opening Ceremony Tokyo launch party in August, we don't know if we should hand her a broom or ask for a drumstick. The dress is totally French maid, but that skinny black tie is pure Colonel Sanders.

We're on the fence when it comes to this trend, but we'll let you be the judge.

Click here to see Jennifer Aniston rock a tie ... and nothing else.

Try telling that to these starlets and, yes, even spouses of heads of state. From Colonel Sanders ribbon ties to blousy numbers seemingly swiped from Elaine Stritch's closet, these gals have jumped on the neckwear bandwagon and buckled themselves in.

Bowties Have Celebrity Women All Tied Up - Knotty by Nature

We've grown accustomed to Chuck Bass and his dandy array of bowties. But at the end of the day, we want to date him, not dress like him.

Et tu, Michelle? The First Lady tied one on for an awards ceremony for the International Women of Courage in March.

Botkier's fall footwear
When we were five, we owned a pair of pink, glittery, fringed cowboy boots that we refused to take off except to get in the bathtub or go to bed. Leave it to luxe leather brand Botkier to translate our childhood obsession into the purple, fringe-heavy, adult version at right.

With the brand's signature gold, metallic soles, Botkier's current season's collection offers platform pumps, booties and flats that are both playful and polished.

wqqh Beyoncé’s House of Deréon Sued by Manufactu

in: bags

Sasha Fierce better trade in her cut-out latex bodysuits and mile high stilettos for a killer business suit.

Beyoncé Knowles’ clothing line House of Deréon is being sued by Hong Kong manufacturer Vier International Ltd. for breach of contract, reports WWD.

According to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, the apparel maker claims it lost more than $500,000 because clothing company Donna Loren LLC and shipping outfit HJM International were “conspirators who induced the shipment of goods to the United States with the intent to convert them or pay less than the agreed upon contract price,” says the source.

The alleged low-balling scheme reaches far and wide. Vier also names Beyond Productions LLC and House of Deréon — both companies owned by Knowles and partners — for taking part through purchase orders and requesting manufacturer specifications.

Along with looking for its $500k back, Vier is not playing around: The company included claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), the same law used in most Mafia prosecutions!

Grammy winner or not, looks like Beyoncé might need to put her “Ego” aside and bring her legal A-game.

Meanwhile, success still smells sweet for the 28-year old singer. Beyoncé recently threw a launch party for her new fragrance.

fafr Bulgari’s New Serpenti Jewelry Collection_179

in: bags

If you missed the celebrity-studded castle party that Bulgari threw in Rome last month to mark the brand’s 125th anniversary, you can still get in on the action.

The iconic jewelry company — favored by legendary actresses such as Ingrid Bergman and Elizabeth Taylor, among others — presented its new Serpenti collection Thursday at its Fifth Avenue flagship in New York City.

The new sparkling assortment of accessories includes watches, bracelets and rings that slither (rather sensuously) around wrists and fingers in links of gold, pavé diamonds, onyx and mother of pearl.

The entry price for one of these precious creatures is a cool $4,000 (for a ring) and goes up to $85K for a pavé diamond and platinum watch.

The snake motif has adorned the limbs of beautiful women since the ancient Greeks (hello, Cleopatra!) and is traditionally believed to offer talisman-like powers to its wearer. Bulgari’s initial foray into retail reptilia began in the 1940s when it designed snake’s-head watches.

Bulgari’s new Serpenti collection debuts in October, but by then will we all be ready for a shedding of skin?

Miyu Burberry – The Final Countdown_1844

in: bags

Burberry - The Final Countdown

Get your calendars ready, tomorrow (Thursday, May 28 ) has been declared "Burberry Day" by New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg. (Yes, you still have to work and no, you don't have to wear plaid!) The New York skyline is about to be changed forever -- check out the time lapse video of the Burberry sign above to get your own countdown started!

In addition to opening its new Madison Avenue headquarters, the brand intends to use its new Burberry Foundation to contribute half a million dollars to local youth projects that help kids realize their potential through creative outlets.

Additionally, according to WWD, our favorite British purveyor of plaid will announce plans to double its NYC retail presence. If all of that isn't reason to break out the good champers, we don't know what is.

Of course, we're not the only ones who think a party is in order. Tomorrow evening, a 50-foot-long Burberry logo at the top of the brand's building will light up, while the 54th floor of the Palace Hotel will serve as the location of a super stylish soiree for 300 fashionable guests.

Celebrities from both the States and across the pond will be in attendance, including the Olsen twins, Blake Lively, Peaches Geldof, Sean Lennon, Helena Christensen, Nicky Hilton and more.

So what does the American Burberry HQ look like? According to WWD, it takes up 68,000 square feet, four floors and, like the London headquarters, was designed by creative director Christopher Bailey, who chose a neutral palette of gray, black, and chocolate brown. Common areas feature LED screens to, most importantly, watch runway shows.

Two 1500-square-foot concept stores will be at the Madison Avenue address -- currently, both spaces are empty, but not for long. One will house Burberry London and the other, the brand's recently updated Burberry Brit, which will arrive in November.

Ready to start shopping? Thursday is the day to do it -- 20 percent of all proceeds made at the 57th Street and Spring Street (SoHo) locations will be donated to the Burberry Foundation, so you can buy your designer goods guilt-free! (Or, if you can't wait, start clicking away below!)

Deqc Build the perfect jean wardrobe – Tip of the

in: UGG

Build the perfect jean wardrobe - Tip of the day
There are so many different types of jeans that it could really make a girl crazy. Let's cut to the chase. There are four crucial pairs that we should all have in our closets.
The Straight Leg This is a classic pant that isn't as tight as a skinny jean but works in a similar manner. Therefore, proportion is key. But once you have that down, you can pair your straights with flats and a blazer and look totally chic. They are the perfect, comfy everyday jean. The Trouser Trouser cuts are extremely flattering on many body types because of their thigh skimming top half and wider bottom. The cut is also office appropriate and a good choice for casual Friday's. They can also take any blah outfit in a more elegant direction. The Flare Flares come with a variety of names – boot cut, wide legged, etc. The point is, is that they are an easy flared fit that helps balance out the body by creating the illusion of an hourglass with the flared bottom half. They should also be just a smidge tight in the thigh than a trouser cut. An easy, super soft pair is an ideal weekend staple. You know, for those crazy errand filled Saturday's when tight jeans just won't do. The Skinny Skinny jeans are just that, skinny contraptions that seemingly cut off circulation to the legs. But don't be fooled. Anyone can wear a skinny. You just have to know your proportions and get a great, relaxed fit. The biggest mistake woman make is getting jeans that are too tight or pairing their skinnies with equally fitted tops; a look best reserved for pin-thins like Nicole Richie and Keira Knightley. The best way to pair them is with a loose top that hits at the hip. This look is flattering on anyone so you can't go wrong. And unless you are Nicole Richie, your skinny's are best saved for evenings out with heels. That's it! These jeans will cover everything from day to night, office to errands. Many of the other jeans we're seeing now – boyfriend fit, extreme wide leg, colored denim – are trends that will come and go but these timeless jeans, when purchased in the right fit for your bod, will last you a lifetime. MAKEUP: Rie Omoto for M.A.C.HAIR: Dai Michishita for CutlerSNAPSHOT: Strong & Sexy Femmes

THE SCOOP: A Rebecca Taylor customer knows how to be sexy without having to resort to showing a lot of skin, so the hair and makeup reflected this sense of confidence. Omoto created makeup looks that require some guts -- bronze, glittery eye makeup and super bold, matte orange lips. Hair followed suit, with a polished, no-room-for-mistakes bun in the shape of a bow tie.

GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: All makeup by M.A.C. Omoto blended Eye Kohl pencil liner in Costa Riche (a chocolate brown) onto the lids and then pressed loose gold sparkles from the M.A.C. Pro line on top. The lips were a work of art -- Omoto layered Paint Stick in Basic Red with Cream Color Base in Virgin Isle, then mattified the color with loose orange pigment from M.A.C. Pro.

GET THE LOOK - HAIR: Do not try this at home! Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon explained that it took three people to create the bow tie chignons for the models (most of it done on hairpieces and then attached to the models' heads). But you can get the idea at home -- Cutler said that a clean middle part and a polished bun at the nape of the neck can give the same effect. "If you can't do a bow on yourself," he said, "do a twisty bun in back and turn it on its side do you can fan out some of the hair for the same effect." Use Cutler Flyaway Stick to smooth any renegade stray hairs.
